The NCAC is a federal body that provides child care national standards and assesses each centre on the national standards for the provision of child care and education. Currently there are 691 accreditation points to address under seven (7) categories, namely:
1. Staff Relationships with Children and Peers;
2. Partnerships with Families;
3. Programming and Evaluation;
4. Children's Experiences and Learning;
5. Protective Care and Safety;
6. Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing; and
7. Managing to Support Quality
The accreditation process is ongoing and requires much commitment and dedication from the staff at the service.
