The primary purpose of the Sensorial Activities is to help the child in their effort to sort out the many and varied impressions given by the senses. The materials used in the Sensorial Activities are quite unlike anything else that the child has encountered in the way of playthings. They are specifically designed so that children are attracted to them, made from natural materials in manageable sizes and simple in appearance. Activities concentrate on developing the child’s memory through the senses of smell, touch, sound, sight and taste.
